Based in London, Yolanda Y. Liou’s photography and moving image work is inspired by human beauty in all its kaleidoscopic forms. Lush colour, unexpected composition and an unmistakable sense of connection is a rich signature running throughout her imagery.
Yolanda’s work beckons her viewer to look again, drawing the eye with perfectly imperfect, and often intimate moments. Celebrating and cherishing human individuality without shock or fanfare, Yolanda holds a mirror to modern concepts of beauty, allowing us to see the world through her eyes; fresh, unexpected and visually arresting.
Thank You For Playing With Me, Yolanda’s second published book dives deeper into this perception of beauty, challenging our often stale conventions and inherited notions. More than a collection of portraits, she and her muses, Enam Ewura Adjoa Asiama and Vanessa Russell, invite you on a journey, experiencing the kinship between subject and artist.
