Bringing together natural light, organic elements and a gift for story-telling, Ivona Chrzastek creates still life photographs that are full of emotion. “I’m looking for a narrative to unfold, to make my pictures evoke a feeling,” she says.
Meticulously researched props and set design add context to her compositions, but she also appreciates moments of imperfection, working with strong shadows or the asymmetry of plants, rocks and ephemera. For her beauty portraits, she takes a similarly considered approach, conjuring quietly impactful, high-contrast images that are stripped of artifice.
