Miriam Strong’s personal series Superstars features Eve Wrestling, an all-female wrestling promotion in East London.

‘Theatre on amphetamine.’ That’s the best way to describe wrestling to people who have never witnessed it live. Shot using experimental techniques and mixed formats to confront the audience with a sense of theatrical fantasy, and to entice them into this immersive fictional world on the fringes of mainstream.

Beyond sheer athleticism, it’s the outfits, the music, the gimmicks, and the storylines that grab the audience’s attention and hold it in a headlock. It’s pure entertainment, and the competitors’ presence is intoxicating, both inside and outside of the ring.
